A lot of people believe that intelligence was given to you by God or by someone or something else. And that you therefore are morally required to use it properly. As a philosopher René Descartes thought quite a bit, since that was the most important thing in his live.
That was a big part of his work. But a lot of people who were very conservative didn't agree with his thought.
Thinking is always a good thing. But sometimes it's better to keep thoughts thoughts.
